Lady Gaga is being sued by toy manufacturer MGA Entertainment for $10 million for an alleged breach of contact after the singer licensed the company to make a doll in her image. MGA Entertainment claims the singer requested the removal of a voice chip from their Lady Gaga doll, which then jeopardised their ability to meet retail deadlines, reports the New York Daily News .

A 25-year-old woman who duped the state of Oregon into giving her a $2.1 million tax refund pleaded guilty Tuesday and was sentenced to 5 1/2 years in prison. Krystle Marie Reyes , of Salem, entered guilty pleas to one felony count of tax evasion and three counts of felony fraud. She had faced eight felony charges.

Ghana's President John Atta- Mills has died, according to a statement sent by the president's office to Reuters on Tuesday. "It is with a heavy heart...that we announce the sudden and untimely death of the president of the Republic of Ghana," the statement said. It said the president, 68, died a few hours after being taken ill but no further details were given.

Sage Stallone 's cause of death is still a mystery ... this according to his official death certificate filed in L.A. The death certificate lists Sage's C.O.D. as "deferred" -- which means the coroner is waiting for the results of various tests, including toxicology, before proclaiming what killed the 36-year-old. The coroner notes that Sage's body was found on July 13 -- but does not specify a definitive date of death. As it was  previously reported, people connected with the case believe Sage may have been dead for several days before his body was discovered by the housekeeper.

Another disaster hit Plateau State on Sunday night. There was a downpour, followed by floods, which swept away a 90-day-old baby and 37 others. No fewer than 50 people were missing. One of those hit hard by the floods is Indo Abdul Hamid, who lost her six children. The menace was felt badly in Gangare, Tundun Osi, Anguwan Rogo and Kwanan areas of Jos metropolis. The Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State on Sunday faulted the state government’s invitation of prominent Nigerians for the declaration of Governor Olusegun Mimiko’s bid for second term in office slated for Tuesday, alleging that the invitees were paid to attend the event.

Protests on Sunday greeted the release of the results of Saturday’s local government election in Ogun State as the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria swept the polls. As the state Independent Electoral Commission released the results of the poll, the main opposition parties, the People’s Democratic Party and the People’s Party of Nigeria kicked, rejecting the outcome of the exercise. The electoral body said the ACN recorded a landslide victory in the council poll winning 19 chairmanship seats out of the 20 in the state. OGSIEC added that the ruling party won 217 councillorship seats, while the PDP and the PPN won eight and one councillorship seats respectively. The commission withheld the results of Imeko-Afon Local Government council pending the determination of a court order in respect of the poll in the area.
